Chelsea Rudd for Edmonds Port Commissioner

As the parents of two young children, my husband and I are committed to their future in a city that values its parks, community spaces, and waterfront. Our coastline offers the pleasures of boating and water to people of all ages and it’s ours to cherish and protect.

As your Port Commissioner, I will:

• Pursue economic growth with innovative ideas, like ecotourism and a marine science lab

• Champion environmental stewardship. I’m proud to be the only Sierra Club endorsed candidate.

• Prioritize Marsh Estuary restoration and the impacts of sea level rise on the Port

• Incentivize clean boating and sustainable marine practices

• Ensure that our waterfront is welcoming and inclusive to all

My business background

In my current position as Chief Financial Officer, I have over 7 years of experience managing a multimillion dollar nonprofit that operates in three states throughout the PNW.

Prior to that I worked in Washington DC providing accounting services to the federal government, so I understand how federal and state funding works, which is applicable to the Port. I earned my bachelor’s degree in accounting and MBA from the University of South Florida and I am a former CPA.

Community Involvement

I was the leader behind the save Edmonds Parks movement from earlier this year. When some on city council tried to rezone and sell our parks for commercial development, I organized residents and together we saved Hummingbird Hill Park, the Frances Anderson Center, the Wade James Theater and the Meadowdale Clubhouse.

I’ve been a volunteer at the Edmonds Arts Festival for the past four years, an Elections Lead volunteer for Moms Demand Action, and a founding member of Edmonds Activated, an online advocacy group for civic engagement.

I have the qualifications, passion and commitment to be your next Port Commissioner and look forward to bringing your voice to our waterfront!
